Due to its safety and effectiveness, laser vision correction is now one of the most commonly performed eye operations in the world.

Furthermore, the VISX Star S4 laser has a unique 3D tracking system making the procedure safer than with other lasers. In addition, the VISX’s Pupil Centration Device automatically centres the laser beam over the pupil, thus eliminating human error.

iLASIK Results

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the VISX CustomVue procedure for correcting short-sightedness and astigmatism. The following are some of the FDA clinical study results. One year after the VISX CustomVue procedure:

  • 100% could pass a driving test without glasses or contact lenses
  • 98% could see 20/40 or better without glasses or contact lenses
  • 70% could see better than 20/20 without glasses or contact lenses

iLasik procedure using CustomVue Wavefront Technology also has the potential to improve not only how much you can see, in terms of visual acuity measured by the standard 20/20 eye chart, but can also improve how well you can see, in terms of contrast sensitivity and fine details, translating into a reduced risk of glare, halos and difficulty with night vision.

In two separate FDA studies, four times as many participants were very satisfied with their night vision after CustomVue, compared to their night vision with their glasses or contact lenses.
