Office workers rarely take a screen break

Despite eye health professionals and the Health and Safety Executive recommending regular screen breaks, just one in five employees do this, leaving 90% of people with symptoms of screen fatigue – such as headaches and eyestrain.
Over a quarter said they only took a break from their computer for meetings or when grabbing some lunch.

"Making a few simple adjustments to your seat, screen settings or posture could be all that’s needed to save your eyes from feeling tired and irritated after a long day at work," advised Dharmesh Patel, chariman of the Eyecare Trust.

The study, which recommended that people take a screen break every 20 minutes. Recent research from Sight Care found that nearly half of employees whose work requires them to use a computer for over five hours each day have failed to undertake any form of eye test.  ADNFCR-1459-ID-800576829-ADNFCR
