The Royal Australian and new Zealand College of Ophthalmologists held its 42^nd Annual Scientific Congress in Adelaide in November, 2010.

On the 22^nd of November, Dr Con Moshegov presented his results with the AMO Synchrony accommodating intraocular lens.

Dr Moshegov is one of the first eye surgeons in Australia to have experience with the Synchrony and was pleased to be able to share his findings with the audience consisting of ophthalmic surgeons, orthoptists and ophthalmic nurses.

The lens is perfectly safe and affords better near vision without glasses than standard monofocal lenses.

Follow up of patients to determine their long term ability to read without glasses is underway.
