From the age of 12 – I have worn glasses, which had become a part of me and a large part of my everyday life. I couldn’t lie in bed and watch TV without breaking or bending my frames, or know where I left my towel and belongings when I went to the pool or beach!

Being active and competitive in sports such as triathlon, kayaking and cycling, glasses just weren’t suitable and the daily grind of contact lens management was just a pain. Prior to visiting Perfect Vision Laser Correction I had thought it was only suitable for those with major short sightedness. The thing that pushed me most to have my eyes done was my wedding in January and, of course, the honeymoon. It was great not having to think about contact lenses during the big event. Exercising is a whole lot easier too as I don’t have to constantly push my glasses up my nose or put drops in when my eyes dry out.

The decision to go ahead was made even easier after I met Dr Moshegov. I have never met a doctor with such a beautiful bedside manner. He is a true gentleman and made me feel as if I had not a worry in the world.

It was about 12 months ago that I found I had reached a point where I couldn't see anything up close without my glasses. That meant I was totally dependant on them, and I found that adjustment very difficult. There is no pain associated with the operation and when the anaesthetic drops they put in your eyes wear off, there's only very slight discomfort for a few hours, like you've got grit in your eyes.
